Biography

Stephen Johnson is a trial lawyer admitted to practice in California.  He represents clients in diverse matters, including fraud, contract, copyright, and employment disputes.

Stephen also coaches his alma mater, UCLA Law’s #1-ranked National Trial Team, and teaches trial advocacy to law school, college, and high-school students and teachers around the world.  While competing, Stephen won four national championships, was ranked the number one advocate in the country at three, was the one-on-one trial advocacy national champion, and twice received the American College of Trial Lawyers’ Justice Lewis F. Powell Medal.

Stephen holds Bachelors of Business Administration degrees in both Finance and Accounting from the University of Cincinnati and received his Juris Doctor from UCLA, graduating as an inductee to the National Order of the Barristers and receiving the A. Barry Capello Certificate For Excellence in Trial Advocacy.

Prior to joining Miller Barondess, Stephen worked at the nation’s largest plaintiff-side securities class action firm, recovering more than $450 million for defrauded investors across the country, including a rare PSLRA fraud trial resulting in the largest ever SPAC-related recovery.
