The January 12, 2011 edition of the Daily Journal named Dan Miller in their list of Top 20 Under 40 leading lawyers in California. This list honors the top 20 lawyers in California under the age of 40 in a variety of industries and practice areas.
The article highlights some of Dan Miller’s notable clients ranging from an NBA all-star player to actors, musicians, and even his own father, Skip Miller, who the Daily Journal describes as “one of Los Angeles’ most hard-nosed lawyers.”
Dan’s trial career started at Latham & Watkins where he obtained a $3 million settlement for a pro bono case where he represented the family of a September 11th victim. In 2006, Dan was a founding member with his father, Skip Miller, of the now well-known firm, Miller Barondess. Dan helped build the firm with his brother and two close friends from law school. By age thirty-five, Dan had five trials under his belt.
During one such trial, Dan represented his father as a client, and alongside his brother and best friend achieved a $4.6 million victory for him.

Dan has extensive experience in the banking and private equity sector. He has represented a prominent private equity firm in several cases involving mergers and acquisitions and other financing transactions. Dan has represented some of the leading investment banks in the world and two of the largest publicly traded banks in California. He brings a unique perspective to litigation given his prior practice at Latham & Watkins where he worked on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and intellectual property licensing agreements.
In entertainment, Dan has represented talent including Sean Connery, Rod Stewart, Don Felder, former member of The Eagles, NBA All-Stars, and an NFL Head Coach. He also represents a prominent artist management company and has litigated cases on behalf of a public gaming company, sports agents, and a prominent movie studio.
Dan received his Juris Doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall) School of Law in 2001. He graduated from UCLA, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
