Jason H. As outside counsel to the County of Los Angeles, he handles the County’s most sensitive and complex cases, often involving public policy and multimillion-dollar exposures. Recently, Tokoro successfully defended LA County in two highly publicized lawsuits filed by former Sheriff Alex Villanueva, alleging constitutional violations, defamation, and emotional distress.
David W. Schecter is an accomplished trial lawyer and Miller Barondess partner with a proven record of success in high-stakes commercial, business tort, entertainment, and intellectual property disputes. He has secured jury verdicts in state and federal courts and has represented clients before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the California Courts of Appeal. Schecter has extensive experience representing high-profile celebrities, artists, entertainers, and athletes, including Mötley Crüe, Smokey Robinson, Nile Rodgers, NBA players, and PGA Tour professionals. Recently, Schecter secured a victory defending media mogul Byron Allen and Allen Media Group in a high stakes race discrimination lawsuit filed by entrepreneur Soohyung Kim, whose firm Standard General had sought to acquire TEGNA, Inc. and its more than 60 television stations in an $8.6 billion deal.
